Mica Powder can be mixed and used in many art forms
- EPOXY RESIN Add approximately ¼ to ½ teaspoon of mica powder per ounce of mixed epoxy resin & hardener. For large projects, you will need approximately 3 to 4.5 ounces of mica powder per gallon of combined epoxy resin & hardener.
- PAINT Add approximately 1 to 2 teaspoons of mica powder per quart of paint. You can mix mica powder right into oil paint, acrylic paint, or mediums to give your paint added depth and shimmer.
- POLYMER CLAY You can either mix mica powder with raw clay to add color or brush the pigment on, and then seal it with a finishing spray.
- BATH BOMBS 1 teaspoon to 2 teaspoons mica powder per 2 cups of baking soda. We highly recommend that you use Polysorbate 80 at a 1:2 ratio with your other oils to properly disperse your colors and oils in the bath water and reduce residue in the tub. For more vibrant color results, we suggest “blooming” your baking soda before mixing your bath bombs. To do this, add your mica powder to the baking soda and spritz several times with isopropyl alcohol or witch hazel. Mix with your hands or a stand mixer until the color is well incorporated. Allow the baking soda to dry fully for several hours before proceeding with the rest of your recipe
